SHOT IN SOHO
Today we visited the photographers gallery. This gallery was very intreating this is because you saw a verity of different things shot some colourful some dull and a lot more photographers work. There are a few photos from the two different exhibitions such as "Shot in soho" and Feast for the eyes-the story of food in photography my favourite exhibition was "Shot in soho" this is because you can see what London truly used to be like. However I also really like "Feast for the eyes- The story of food in photography" this is because all the colours are bright and have some sort of life to them. For example the family with the food shop, the family almost proud with how much food they have just brought.
Good intro to the exhibitions at the Photographer's Gallery, Lottie!
Sp - interesting, variety, bought

FEAST FOR THE EYES- THE STORY OF FOOD IN PHOTOGRAPHY
nick gentry
Gentry is a British portrait artist from London. Gentry gets his ideas from his work from the development of consumerism, technology and a focus on obsolete media. However the way nick Gentry gets this extraordinary look he uses recycled and obsolete technological artefacts for his work. The materials of his work are usually sustainably sourced and these materials are usually from the public seeing as Gentry likes the idea of "social art". Gentry is mostly known from his unique view of the human form not as a subject in its self.
What kind of materials does he use? Do you like the work and if so, why?

ANDRE DE FREITAS
Andre De Freitas is a photographer who grew up in Peru. Andre De Freitas originally went to university to get a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Animatio and she managed to get this this degree however he stared becoming more imaginative and stared focusing on more illustration. He said in his own words "Instead of just drawing, I tried to imagine myself taking photos of my subjects. That way the illusion of stillness would be a little more believable, almost like a photograph." This is showing that he does not want to be like other photographers and just take pictures of one certain image and wants to explore a different light in photography.

first photoshoot
For this shot I was inspired by the photographer Andre De Freitas. The reason why I liked the idea Andre De Freitas came up with is because, the way i got this photo was I took three original photos two of the face and one of the trees. With this shoot I liked the idea of double exposure and mirror image had this combination and synergy.
second photoshoot
I got inspired to do this shoot by Mauren Brodbeck, because I enjoyed how she took some simple and dull images and with just some simple colour she made more enthusiastic and keen on the look of the images.

Re-creation of Nick Gentry
The process...
I took separate photos of Liliana and Tae and used this app called mosaically. This app created a photo of them combined together and this was a big photo of Liliana's face and a 1000 little photo's of tae's face over Liliana's face. I originally got inspired to do this shoot from Nick Gentry. Add the image you shot of Tae here. |
PAUL CATHERALL
LIZZIE PRESTT
For my final piece I got most inspiration from Mauren Brodbeck and these two artists. This is because I feel like this strand is the most colourful and vibrant.
